Book of the Day "God: The Most Unpleasant Character in All Fiction"

God is...     Merciful? Just? Compassionate? In fact the Bible lays out God's primary qualities clearly: He's jealous, petty, unforgiving, bloodthirsty, vindictive - and worse!

Originally conceived as a joint presentation between influential thinker and best-selling author Richard Dawkins and former evangelical preacher Dan Barker, this unique book provides an investigation into what may be the most unpleasant character in all fiction.

Barker combs through both the Old and New Testaments (as well as 13 different editions of the "Good Book"), presenting powerful evidence for why Scripture shouldn't govern our everyday lives. This witty, well-researched book suggests that we should move past the Bible and clear a path to a kinder and more thoughtful world.

Black Cop Sues After Being Shot by White Cop

Black Police Officer Sues City of St.Louis After Being Shot By Another Cop    I guess pigs will be pigs... I always wondered how black cops can feel comfortable doing the white man's dirty work everyday.  For black police officer Milton Green, this #WakeUp call was loud and clear! Green was shot while off duty by a fellow officer and is suing the city, alleging the department has not supported him since the June 2017 incident.

Milton Green was shot by a cop outside his home in the city’s North Pointe neighborhood. The shooting occurred while officers were searching for suspects of a stolen vehicle who fled the car and allegedly ran near Green’s home.

Green says when officers approached, he identified himself as a policeman but was immediately shot by Officer Christopher Tanner.

He is now suing Tanner and the city of St. Louis, as Green believes he would have been treated differently at the time of the shooting and the aftermath if he were white.

Officer Milton Green open…

Her Real Name is Marijuana and She Just Earned a Ph.d with a Dissertation on Black Names

Marijuana Pepsi Vandyck is now a Ph.d and no, she doesn’t smoke the good stuff.

She earned her Ph.D. last month after years of trying to prove herself despite her name.
“People make such a big deal out of it, I couldn’t get away from it,” Vandyck said.

Her dissertation titled, “Black names in white classrooms: Teacher behaviors and student perceptions,” was inspired by her personal experience as a black student with such an uncommon name.

Marijuana also interviewed students during her undergrad “about the effect of their distinctly black names on their treatment by teachers and on their academic achievement.” Many told her how teachers would interrupt attendance to ask them about their unique names.

Marijuana also once challenged a professor who did that to her at Whitewater, saying," Why are you asking me? My name is Marijuana, thank you.

Still, Marijuana said she has no desire to change her name and rejects nicknames like Mary. The holder of a new doctorate de…

FREE Audio Book of the Day "How Not to Get Shot: And Other Advice from White People"

"White people are always giving out 'helpful' advice after black  people get shot by police, such as: 'Comply with the police and you won't get shot.'
White people have been spewing out advice to black people ever since 'I suggest you pick the cotton if you don't like getting whipped.'

Getting shot by the police has always been a problem for black people. Even when we had a black president! Now that we have a new set of overlords, with President Trump at the head, wouldn't it be nice to get a little advice on how not to get shot???"

From the elections of Barack Obama and Donald Trump to the tragic events of Ferguson and Charlottesville, the subject of race has come to the forefront of American consciousness.
Legendary comedian D. L. Hughley offers his own cutting edge observations on this contentious issue that continues to traumatize the nation... a wound made more painful by the ongoing comments and actions of the 45th resid…

NC Pool Bans Dreadlocks and Weaves

A rec center in North Carolina is facing much backlash after it placed a ban on dreadlocks and weaves. Covert racism, not so covert though...

People on social media have called the center out...
One person posted a photograph of the pool rules for the Outdoor Recreation Center in Wendell on Sunday. One rule says “no baggy pants, no dread-locks/weaves/extensions or revealing clothes will be permitted or you will be asked to leave.”
Revealing clothes??? It's a fucking swimming pool!!! What are people supposed to wear, jeans???

More people on social media spoke out against the pool...
“Is this really allowed in Wendell!!!” wrote Nikki Harris on the Wendell NC Community Connections Facebook group.

“Definitely racial discrimination! Never will see me there!!” another user wrote.

The punk ass pool owner claims that hair extensions are banned because they can get into pumping equipment, causing an “automatic shutdown of 3 days or more..." But what about dreadloc…

Book of the Day "What Truth Sounds Like"

What Truth Sounds Like exists at the tense intersection of the conflict between politics and prophecy – of whether we embrace political resolution or moral redemption to fix our fractured racial landscape. The future of race and democracy hang in the balance.

In 1963, Attorney General Robert Kennedy sought out James Baldwin to explain the rage that threatened to engulf black America. Baldwin brought along some friends, including playwright Lorraine Hansberry, psychologist Kenneth Clark, and a valiant activist, Jerome Smith. It was Smith's relentless, unfiltered fury that set Kennedy on his heels, reducing him to sullen silence.

Kennedy walked away from the nearly three-hour meeting angry - that the black folk assembled didn't understand politics, and that they weren't as easy to talk to as Martin Luther King. But especially that they were more interested in witness than policy.

But Kennedy's anger quickly gave way to empathy, especially for Smith. "I gues…

White Christian Missionary Poses as Doctor and Kills Over 100 Black Babies #WakeUp

Renee Bach a U.S. christian missionary with NO medical training who left Virginia in 2007 and went to Uganda.
By 2012, she founded a private NGO and healthcare facility called Serving His Children. She then conned the African people to believe she was a doctor and over 100 babies died due to her "care".

Reports say she took children with malnutrition from local hospitals and treated them at her fake clinic and is now being sued!

Two women named Gimbo Zubeda and Kakai Rose, alongside civil society organization Women’s Probono Initiative said, “The mothers allege that they were led to believe that Ms. Renee Bach was a ‘medical doctor’ and that her home was a ‘medical facility’ as she was often seen wearing a white coat, a stethoscope and often administered medications to children in her care.”

However, when their children died it was revealed that Bach had no training in medicine and “that in 2015, the District Health Officer had closed her facility and orde…

Book of the Day "Conversations with God: An Uncommon Dialogue, Book 1"

Listening to this book actually made me question a lot of things. Imagine if you could talk to god!!!!
What would you say? What questions would you ask? One of my favorite authors has compiled a book in which that very thing happens! Conversations with God: An Uncommon Dialogue, Book 1

Conversations with God Book 1 began a series that has been changing millions of lives for more than ten years. Finally, the bestselling series is now a movie, starring Henry Czerny (The Pink Panther and Clear and Present Danger) and Ingrid Boulting (The Last Tycoon). Produced and directed by Stephen Simon (producer of Somewhere in Time and What Dreams May Come) and distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films and Fox Home Entertainment, the theatrical release is set for October 27, 2006. The movie is the true account of Walsch (played by Cierny), who went from an unemployed homeless man to an "accidental spiritual messenger" and author of the bestselling book.
