Book of the Day "Go Tell It On the Mountain"

Image
This short, american classic story brightly illuminates the double-edged sword that is religion. How does religion help us and how does it harm us?
Based partly on the author's life in Harlem as black son of an abusive preacher, this book highlights the racism of the time, and what life was like for many black youth during the depression.
Using a combination of lyrical compassion and resonant rage, he portrays a 14 year old boy questioning the terms of his identity.
The main character is the son of an abusive pentecostal preacher in Harlem during the Depression. The action of this short novel spans a single day in John’s life, and yet manages to encompass on an epic scale his family’s troubled past and his own inchoate longings for the future, set against a shining vision of a city where he both does and does not belong.

*Proof* Cops Hid Evidence of Sandra Bland's Murder - New Video Surfaces

Image
This racists pig initially said he was in fear of his safety, a common lie told by cops after they break the law themselves. This video clearly disproves that.

The officer Brian Encinia was indicted for lying in his report but the CHARGES WERE DROPPED in exchange for him resigning his position... Even though special prosecutors promised Bland's family that they would hold a jury trial for Encinia.. They did not follow through on that promise.

Bland's Attorney said he never saw the video and could have better fought the case if he had!

Neither DPS Director Steve McCraw or Attorney Gen. Ken Paxton responded to repeated requests for a brief interview to ask about Sandra's case.

"The family of Sandra Bland, the 28-year-old woman found hanged in a Texas jail cell three days after she was arrested during a traffic stop, is calling for her case to be reopened following the release of previously undisclosed cellphone video.

Investigators discovered video of Bland’s 20…

Mt. Zion Pastor Kills Wife and Kids in Murder/Suicide

Image
Dallas pastor Eugene Keahey shot himself after starting a fire that took the lives of his wife and two of his daughters.

Minutes before the fire, the pastor posted on Facebook asking the lord for guidance through a difficult time... Obviously his prayer was not answered which is no surprise to me.

Keahey’s wife Deanna 51yrs, and daughter Camryn 15yrs, died in the fire on February 28th. Another one of Keahey’s daughters, Darryn 17yrs died from her injuries on April 1st.

Neighbors told police they heard shots fired during the fire.

The cause of death for the three Keahey women have been ruled thermal burns, smoke inhalation, and homicide.

After the deadly fire, police said they discovered evidence inside the home that raised suspicions in regards to a crime.

Evidence suggests that the family was having financial difficulty as the home was foreclosed on last year before being sold on January 11th.

The Cedar Hill Fire Department and the Texas State Fire Marshals are still investigating…
